Day 10 – Lectures and Presentation of the Group Work Assignment
The 10th day of President Ivanov’s School of Young Leaders had four sessions, of which three lectures and one presentation of the group work assignment.
The day began with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Robert Sterken from the University of Texas at Tyler, USA. Prof. Dr. Sterken talked about the importance of leadership as a trait, about leadership skills in general and the characteristics that leaders have. The interactive lecture aroused great interest among the participants and inspired them to ask a large number of questions.
The second lecturer for today was Mr. Mark Donfried, Director of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy from Berlin, Germany, who spoke about the importance of cultural diplomacy and introduced the leaders to its most important elements and how it can contribute to the development of a society.
Also today, Mr. Viktor Mizo, General Manager of Kostal Group and Kostal Macedonia, addressed the participants, who shared his success story, looked back on his career beginnings, talked about the reasons why he returned to Macedonia and gave good advice to participants on how to be a good and successful leader.
At the end of the 10th day, the participants had a session for the presentation of their group work assignment. The activity was a collaborative team assignment moderated by Prof. Dr. Anis Sefidanis, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied IT, Machine Intelligence, and Robotics at the University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid, Macedonia. Prof. Sefidanis played the crucial role of the moderator for this group work session, ensuring that the activity ran smoothly and effectively. The participants were tasked with a comprehensive project proposal assignment. To facilitate this, they were divided into 6 groups, each with a specific focus. The assignment involved several key components: 1. Brainstorming:; 2. Defining Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Activities, and Performance Indicators; and 3. Preparing a presentation (Story Development). This activity had 3 sessions in the program for group work, 1 online, 2 in person and much more group work organized by the groups themselves.

The presentation of the project proposals involved a crucial step in the evaluation and assessment process. The presentation was made in front of an EVALUATION COMMITTEE, which consisted of the following members:
- Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, President of the Republic of Macedonia 2009-2019:
- Prof. Dr. Goran Shibakovski, Dean of the Faculty of Applied IT at the University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle”;
- Prof. Dr. Ustijana Rechkoska-Shikoska, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle”;
- Prof. Dr. Anis Sefidanis, Associate Professor, University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle”;
- Prof. Dr. Robert Sterken, Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at Tyler, USA; and
- Ms. Andrea Iloski, General Manager of the Hotel Inex Olgica in Ohrid.
The evaluation of the project proposals by the Evaluation Committee was conducted using a structured set of criteria. Each project was assessed based on the following five categories, with a maximum of 20 points available for each: 0-20 points – Development of the Problem; 0-20 points – Identifying the Problem; 0-20 points – Sustainability; 0 – 20 points – Digital Manner; and 0-20 points – Presentation.
The culmination of the evaluation process resulted in the selection of the BEST PROJECT PROPOSAL the group work assignment.
After careful consideration and assessment by the Evaluation Committee, it was determined that the top project proposal was presented by Group 4 – “SHANTI.”
